Hi there : )

I have a ticket to the hottest show in Melbourne on the 28th of
October...the under age pf gig *yay* Anyways, I wondered if there was an
econodog meet? If there is one organised, could someone please let me know
details??? If not, can everyone who wants to meet please email me with
suggestions for a time and place (I've never been to the Forum before), and
I'll send deets to everyone who replied, k? I'd love to put faces to names!
We could even put up a photo on the net, like the Sydney econodoggies did at
the last Homebake : )

Contact me (at the above address) all you Melbourne undeRAGErs!!!
*sarah*

PS. Please put 'pf meet' or similar in the subject line...this address is my
family account. Thanx!

Hi all,

I have been a mute witness in this list for a while now, but I now
feel the need to write. I'm a former Newcastle native and have been a
big Powderfinger fan for ages. I have been working/living in the UK
for the past 2.5 years, and have been attempting to stay a
Powderfinger and Oz music devotee, through this list, as well HMV's
online purchasing system (it's still cheaper than buying UK imports!).
I have even got my English girlfriend liking some Australia's finest
bands.

In my 4 brief trips back to Oz since '98, I have not managed to catch
a Powderfinger tour, so when I recently stumbled across the news of a
UK date I was cheering. That was until I realised that it falls in the
middle of my 2 week holiday in Mexico. I couldn't believe it!
Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about the dates, and
everything has already been paid for.

All I can do now is hope that the guys expand the tour, and play some
shows when I am actually here. I don't care where it is, if it's on
the weekend I will travel! Pray with me...

To that Mark Presswell person who was bagging out powderfinger's sound
engineer (Mark McElligott), I wouldn't be so harsh. Their sound engineer has
been with them since the Blue EP, so if you'ver been to other concerts and
enjoyed the sound, there's a huge fucking chance it was Mark's skills. Give
it up, maybe he was having a bad night.

Hey gang,

how goes it? Glad to see the Econodog is comming out more often, i was
getting a little worried for a bit.

Happy to hear that those of you who purchased shirts are enjoying them. I
was worried no one would like them.

Only five more days until I get to see Powderfinger. I tell ya, the
excitment is setting in. The reviews people are giveing are great. Lets
hope we can read a lot more, even if they are a little biased :P.

Anyway, have fun,

Jol

Hello!

Sounds like I'm going to have a great time at Newcastle uni next Tuesday.
I've just been trying to guess what Powderfinger will open/close the show
with. Ithink they'll open with either Waiting For The Sun, The Metre or We
Should Be Together Now. And I'll think they'll close with either Up & Down &
Back Again, Thrilliology, or Capiocity - forgive my crapping spelling! But
I've never been right before.

Hope everyone has a great time at all the gigs.

Daniel.

Greetings to all the Dogs out there, no doubt as gleeful as I that we
finally get to see the BEST and our favourite aussie band grace the stage
once again. No doubt there will be a plethora of posts on just how awesome
the finger are in concert this time round but i'm sure everyone agrees:
Powderfinger are fucking brilliant! At the Palladium on 5th Oct, the boys
gave as nothing but a superb serving of their stuff no less rockin than ever
before. me thinks the set list was as follows and correct me if i'm
mistaken:
Waiting For The Sun, Celebrity, Don't Wanna, Day You Come, Already Gone, My
Hapiness, Private Man, Belter, We Should Be Together, Like a Dog, Odyssey #
5, Whatever makes you happy, My kinda Scene, Good Day Ray, Nature Boy, DAF,
and Passenger with These Days and Trilloilogy for the encore.
It was a hazy, highly happy time and I don't recall pants dropping or mad
antics but the bare chested bimbo was amusingly put in her place when
Bernard asked her to get out of the way bacause he couldn't see his
boyfriend. Thanks to the PF boys and crew for an awesome show, and to
everyone yet to experience the live Odyssey Number Five - enjoy.
Love the Fflur

g'day fellow econodogs,
well last night was awesome. Skulker and Magic Dirt both played veyr good,
but as usual Powderfinger kicked arse! I was dissappointed with one thing
though......I did not see one other person with and econodog shirt on...and
I looked very hard. Set list was something like this (not exact, just going
from my memory-which doesn't always work);

Waiting for the Sun
Celebrity Head
Don't Wanna be Left out
Day You Come
My Happiness - (dedicated by dz to the 'ever-faithfull econodogs')
Already Gone
Like a Dog
Belter
Odyssey Number 5
My Kinda Scene
d.a.f.
Good Day Ray
Whatever Makes You Happy
We Should Be Together Now

Encore
These Days
Thrilloilogy

The first couple of songs are in the right order, and then the rest are just
random as they popped into my head, and the encore is right aswell. Just a
point, that memory phenomenon is called the primacy-recency effect, where i
can only really remember the first (primary) and the last (recency) songs
played.

A very cool show, and Cogsy was a funny bastard all night....cracking jokes,
and egging on JC for a bass solo of which he piked out on!
Whoever has tickets for the next shows, be ready to mosh!

just a quickie....add Private Man to the middle of the set list and
Passenger to the end of the main set before the encore.
