Date: Thu, 05 Oct 2000 03:38:15 GMT
Hi
I thought it's been way too long since I (we) posted so we'd grace you all
with our presence!
The good news is that we heard official confirmation today that Powderfinger
WILL be on the Big Day Out 2001 bill along with...*drum roll* Limp Bizkit,
Placebo, Killing Heidi, sonic animation, the Go-Betweens (yay!) and a few
more that we can't be bothered listing. So for all you underagers (and the
rest of us of course) that'll be something to look forward to.
For anyone going to the Adelaide shows, we'll be there scarily early for the
Thursday show (and in the nearest pub til Powdy hit the stage on the Friday)
so come and say hi!
Also thanks to everyone who requested/contributed and listened to our Powdy
special, we think it went down like the Titanic but cheers for your support.
Seeya soon!!

yeay! only 11 days untill the sydney powderfinger show that i'm going too!!
and only nine days till i see the cure....yeah, ok ok, i know that has
nothing to do with powderfinger, but i can't wait to see the cure, it's
avery big deal. i've seen powderfinger before (the are so great!) but the
cure...well i wasn't allowed to go to their WISH tour in 1992, cos i was
seven, so now i can't wait. so, is anyone going to homebake in sydney this
year. i am, and isn't it a shocker that so far, POWDERFINGER aren't on the
line up. very dissapointing seeing as though they rocked last year, but
hopefully they will be added to the list!! and don't worry, there are some
good bands going , so even without POWDERFINGER (oh...shick horror, the very
thought of it......!!) it promices to be a very funk filled day! yeah, so, i
spelt a word wrong just then..oh well. and sorry for the little drama
scene!!
BLESSED BE!
luv Rhiannon
PS- is anyone here from sdyney about 15? cos i need people my own age to
talk to cos none of my friends like powderfinger, well not heaps anyway.

Went to the concert on 4/10/00 . The sound engineer must be tone deaf.We
could hardly hear the vocals and could not understand the dialouge. Very
disappointing as these people are an awesome band. Please let them know as
they may take the tool with them around Australia.

Hi all,
Silly me left it too late to get my ticket for the show at Newcastle uni.
If for some BIZZARE reason a fellow newcastle econodog has a ticket to
spare i'd love to hear from them.

Subject: Econodog tshirts
Hey,
I was actually trying to get in contact with Joel Connelly about the
econodog tshirts. My last email address has been cancelled due to a
change of universities and as such I have lost his email address and
I dont know if he has been trying to contact me.
I know a lot of people have recieved their shirts and I am really keen
to get mine!!
Saw PF on the Gold Coast last night and they were FANTASTIC!! Save
the topless dancer, it was one of the best gigs I have seen to date.
Thanks
Amy

Subject: POW: A couple of QLD gigs
Date: Sun, 08 Oct 2000 12:25:01 EST
Hello all,
Just thought I'd post to let you all know how the tour is going up here in
QLD. This will be a long post so either be prepared or just skip to the next
post.
The first gig of the tour was at Nambour, Cogsy's home town. Of course,
everyone gave Cogsy a massive cheer when Bernie informed us of this. To
anyone who thought that pf don't rock anymore, check out the first three
songs in the set. Waiting.., Celebrity head, and don't wanna.. These songs
seriously rock. Funny moments include Cogsy coming out alone for the encore
with his pants down and then announcing that he was going to sing a song
called "Hurry Up Dickheads" (or something like that).
Anyway no suprises with the setlist tonight. It consisted of all the songs
you'd expect to hear, unfortunately with very little from Double Allergic.
Setlist (Nambour 4/10): Waiting, Celebrity, Don't Wanna, Day U Come, Already
Gone, My Happiness, Private, Belta, We Should Be..., Like A Dog, Odyssey
No.5, Whatever Makes You, My Kinda Scene, Good Day Ray, Nature Boy, DAF,
Passenger (ENCORE) These Days, Thrilloilogy. (This setlist is in correct
order)
Unfortunately I didn't get to the Gold Coast Gig, but I'm sure Brendan will
fill us in about that one.
Arena Friday 6/10. Powderfinger played a really tight set tonight. The
timing was perfect. Maybe the tightest I've seen them yet. Bernie was in
fine form again. Bouncing around the stage, clapping his hands together,
etc. No chest pats though! Actually, the whole band looked like they were
enjoying themselves. I got seperated from my friends right at the start of
the pf set so I spent the entire set moshing by myself. That's because my
friends went and sat with bernie's parents for the set. But I was content
to mosh away down the front. Funny moments: the crowd mimicking cogsy and
bernie. I think it actually amazed bernie how much control he had over the
audience. And when Cogsy came out first for the encore and grabbed the mike
turned to the rest of the band and said, "Do you want me to sing, I'll
sing". Anyway the setlist was similar to nambour but with Living type in the
set and Already gon in the encore. I'm not 100% sure if it's in correct
order but this is pretty close: (Arena 6/10) Waiting, Celebrity, Don't
Wanna, Day You Come, Living Type, My Happiness, Belter, We Should Be...,
Like A Dog, Odyssey No.5, Whatever Makes You, My Kind Of Scene, Good Day
Ray, Nature Boy, DAF, Passenger (ENCORE) Already Gone, These Days,
Thrilloilogy.
Arena Saturday 7/10. I think hearing is fucked now. Once again another
tight set. What's with that bit right at the start of the set??? Funny
moment: Cogsy came on first for the encore and told us that the rest of the
band weren't coming out so we should all chant out Bullshit, and we did.
Bernie came out and said "Bullshit coming from Cogsy's mouth, no."
The crowd was a shitload mellower than the previous night (on friday people
were crowd surfing by the second note of Waiting). And unfortunately Hudson
Lowboy didn't play tonight. The biggest highlight of the night was Darren's
special rendition of J.C, with Bernie and Cogsy busting some funky moves.
Very nice.
Setlist (Arena 7/10) Waiting, Celebrity, Don't Wanna, Day U come, Already
Gone, My Happiness, Private Man, Belter, We Should be..., Like A Dog,
Odyssey No.5, J.C, My Kinda Scene, Good Day Ray, Nature Boy, DAF, Passenger
(ENCORE) Whatever Makes You Happy, These Days and Thrilloilogy.
I hope you all have fun at the gigs that you are going to. Please keep us
informed of the setlists, especially if they play any Double Allergic stuff
(I've given up on them playing parables stuff)
Oh Check Out HUDSON LOWBOY!!! If they tour near you go see them. They've
supported pf twice on this tour (and again tonight in toowoomba). They
Rock!!! Go see them!!

Hey guys
I went to the concerts on the Gold Coast and the 2 nights in Brisbane over
the weekend. They were absolutely awesome, getting better as time goes on.
For any of you watching them later I am jealous. I know they will just keep
building the tempo as the tour continues.
I was wondering how I get some ECONODOG stuff? I really rate the stuff you
all do and thought if there was some paraphernalia I would try and support
it. If not thanks for all the info and random stuff.
Have a great week and an even better month.
Stacey
