It's starting to amuse me - the number of people who just write in crap
because they've got nothing better to say (example a) - and know they'll get
flamed for it. I'm a strong beliver that controversy is good but not if it
means skiping through chunks of digest every 3 days. I'd actually like to
know the percentage of people on this list under 18. A hell of alot I'd
imagine. Lets say an even 50%. Clarkers, I hope you realise the next lot of
digests will be filled with maybe 250 messages giving you crap - good job ;p
Anyway, I'm so happy about that clip.. I'm a big fan of slinkys. Nicole,
like you I understand.. but I emphasise more with Ian. The sad part of my
story is I never found it again. I was forced to buy a 15 pound metal one
from Hamleys. Hog, Those puppy dog eyes and longing looks out of the car
really cracked me up. By the way, nice tambourine work there Bern.
Take it easy fellas.. you never know when you too will be cream pied.

I too am eagerly awaiting the new album but I must say that I think
I have heard better than My Happiness. Its a great song but I dont
really like the effect on the vocals. The b-sides are of the usual
high quality, maybe even better than normal.
Also I was very pleases to learn that Magic Dirt were supporting
powderfinger on the national tour. It really makes the night that
much better when the supports are good as well(like the last tour).
I have seen a few negative posts concerning Magic Dirt and was
wondering if this is the general consensus on the list. Are there
no other Magic Dirt fans out there?
Eagerly awaiting the album/tour,

Subject: Go goose! get screwered clarkers.
Me again, I don't care if no one reads this just as long as goose and
Clarkers do.
Firstly, Go goose! Your awsome.
Secondly, Clarkers,
Your anology about alcohol and powderfinger is dumb. But if you want to use
it, I'll point out a few faults to you with it.
Alcohole, hrm, like cigarettes they are illegal for under 18's to buy and
for anyone to sell to them. Yet people still buy them and it is sold to
them, although the shop assistant and teenager know it is wrong.
CD's and Gigs, Any age person can buy Cd's, so there for, like a legal aged
person buying a bottle of alcohol that can drink in a pub, a cd buyer
should be able to see the band at a live venue.
Didn't I say I was 19 in my last email? Infact its six months till I'm 20
so poo to you. Fuck the right of passage bullshit. Perhaps yes a right of
passage for alcohol but to service your ears with music? Any age will do.
Goose, the best advice I can give you is get some damn good fake ID and
quick, or do a petition if you can be bothered. With fake ID I saw the
wonders of Placebo, and yes, I have to say Powderfinger, and well all know
why. Thank god I was 18 by the time Suede visited our shores.
Bye all,
Nicola.

Hello Everyone. My name is Faith. I am 16 years old. I live in the United
States (pa if you know about the States). I just came back from Australia
about a month ago. I came back with a new favorite band: Powderfinger. So I
have only been a fan for about a month. I found out about the econodogs by
just reading the Powderfinger website. I really don't have a favorite song
because I like all of them. My favorite album is Internationalist. I have
never seen them live. But when they begin touring in the States for the new
album, I am going to go. Thanks for your time.

because I had the same problem 2 years ago - so I feel sympathy for youse

Hey everyone,
Regarding the graphics to the 'My Happiness' video
clip, I thought they were rather good, not "bad" at
all, as Kaz remarked. The colour-filter on the clip
gave it an artistic feel (as did all the different angle shots)
and the little slinky graphic was very well done!
(reminds me of the Toy Story type of graphics).
Gotto say, I love the bit when Ian loses the
slinky out the window. Aww, a touching moment ;)
Hehe.
Personally, I think the video clip is very good.
It's different for one thing. And it's much better made
(with good graphics), than some of the other
video clips out there (by other bands).
On another note, my friend got some great close
up photos of the guys at the Triple J gig the other
morning (That was a while ago now!). I'll borrow
them off her sometime, scan them in and upload
for those who want to see them. I'll get back to you
all on that one!

wow, so many people seriously have the shits about the all age gigs. being
only 15, i still have ages to wait untill i'm 18, but instead of whinging on
and on about there being heaps of over age gigs, and bugger all unger age
gigs, i am happy that they do have some under age gigs, like the enmore
theatre ones. atleast homebake and big day out and that are all ages, and if
they're playing there u can see them. ok ok, i know i'm rambling, but they
was i see it is, be happy u can see them at all, how seriously shitty would
it be if you couldn't see powderfinger at all ( i think i'd die), just be
happy u can see them once or twice rather than not at all (oh, shock horror,
the thought of it!!) well anywayz, i can't wait till october. well this post
thingy sounds seriously shit and makes practically no sense at all, but then
i never do ( can i help being a natural blonde? heehee, j/k)
hmm....ummm...............is anyone going to see the cure when they are in
aus? hmm...i'd seriously be PISSED off if the cure were only doing over age
gigs while they're out here. imagine waiting eight years (since i was 7 i
couldn't see them last time they were in aus) and then not being able to see
them........... oh well, i just don't think it's nice to call us younguns (
i love that word) whingers. so quit it or i'll send in heaps of whingy
posts, heehee, just kidding!!. well untill next post,

that Powderfinger aren't playing near you, I live in Hamilton, New
Zealand and there are NO! (I repeat NO) Powderfinger gigs over here
to go to.
Heres the deal why not all just be proud that they are actually
putting gigs on in your country and relax.
Thats all take care

that the guys are touring but at the same time im
sooooooo sad because i missed out on a ticket to the
adelaide gig because i didnt have any money untill the
thurday after the tickets went on sale on the monday.
Meanwhile the thursday just happened to be the same
day they SOLD OUT!!!!!!!! DAMMIT!!! I have been to
every concert but one and the only reason i didnt go
to that one was because it was an overage gig and i
turned 18 2 days after the show grrr lol. Anyway im
sorry to winge here but im hearbroken =( so if
powderfinger could find it in their hearts to do a
second show in adelaide i would be eternally
greatfull....

What's the deal with the guy who reckons the right to see powderfinger is
similar to the right to drink? What a load of crap. Essentially, you are
saying that too much powderfinger makes people vomit which, once again, is
complete and utter crap. Incidently, I saw the "My happiness" clip this
morning and the guy who said it was like coffee&TV was dead right.
See ya round doggies,

How pissed off does a man have to be. 21st of August comes around, so
a bloke hits the Ticketek website at around 10am, only to find the
the 1st PF show sold out. No drama's, show number 2, the night
before. Orders tickets using the trusty rusty visa, but at the end it
says a problem has occured during prosesseing, but a ticket
consultant will call you soon. 7pm that night I get a call saying the
tickets weren't orderered , so I try to order again whilst on the
phone, but the man tells me its sold out. Not a happy puppy. So I
miss out till next time!!! Can you sense the steam coming from my
ears???? Everyone that's going have fun!

heya doggies!
well i thought i would let u all know that there is a review of
the new album in RS.... and going by the review the newie is going
to be a stunner! apparently most of the new songs are less angry
and more mature. 'orgasm rock' with 'layered vocals, gorgeous
harmonies and a liberal sprinkling of strings' that 'shines the
stongest of all possible lights' on bernie's voice. apparently
powdie have become 'grown-up rockers, crafting mood music for those
who have outgrown homebake.' the review brandishes them as #1
contendors for the tag of australia's u2 and describes the
structure of the songs as beginning with a little acoustic
foreplay and then building and swelling to huge, soaring climaxes.
the rating given was 4 out of 5.
well i gotts to say that this sounds damned fine to me!! i certainly
dont mind if powdy become emotional rockers. sure the old 'dirty rock'
stuff was great, but i guess you can only do that sort of thing for so
long. i was a little worried odyssey #5 would be overproduced, but
i guess i can make up my own mind on sept 5th.
k well i guess thats it from moi. oh, besides the fact that the
awesomely stunning george are releasing a new ep very soonish.
i dont know the exact date, so if someone out there does can u give
me a yell?!
ciao
katioooooooooooooo (aka katie noonan's vocal chords)
ps. newcastle uni gig tix r now finally on sale.

likes them muchly... yay...
