Are there any aspiring journalists out there who live in Adelaide and want
to spend lots of time with me?? Didn't think so...
I may be looking for a new cohost for the Oz-Files sometime in the near
future, so if you love Australian music, love talking about Australian music
and live in Adelaide, I will be holding auditions (not really) soon, so drop
me a line :)
Guest spots are also available...
And to make this powderfinger related...how good are those b-sides?
Take care and I'll see all of you adelaide econos at thebby!

Hi all
Just a quick note to encourage all you Victorian econo's to make sure
you get down to the Forum early for the pf gigs and catch the
first support WETA.
"Why?" I hear you ask...well my little turnips, cause they RAWK!!!!
Think rockin out Shihad-style, but with a much sexier guitarist.
See the band who I have it on good authority our boys drank into
the ground in an "oz vs nz" drinking competition at the wrap bbq
at sing sing records recently.

Hi all,
Things seem a little different here in SA compared with you guys
when it comes to the tour. Considering how much it's been costing
lately to go to a concert, I thought $30 was excellent. From memory,
it was the same last year too, although Something For Kate at that
time was probably a bit more known than Magic Dirt, but still, I
think the price is heaps good, and I'm a struggling student too. As
for there being no underage gigs in some other states, I'm not 100%
sure what's happening here but I think the gig here is an all ages
one since there were some kids in their school uniforms in the line
who clearly weren't 18 getting tickets. It's a pity they haven't
done the same for you guys. I heard on the radio that Sydney and
Melbourne have sold out.
Oh yeah, and the bitch that served us at Venuetix really ruined
the happiness I should have felt at getting the tickets, bloody
cow. Just had to get that out, hehe.....
Oh, anyone heard from Aimee Jenkins about these videos?????
We're still waiting......
Mel

Hey all,
Just writing regarding the underaged issue, and the apparent unfairness
shown toward the younger fans due to the lack of underage or all-ages shows.
This comes up all over the place, and it gets tiresome.
Look at it open-mindedly. Bands make most of their dosh off the bar when
gigging. Underaged gigs just aren't worth it financially. Thus 'Anyway I
hope someone from powderfinger is reading and realize's the market and
opportunity they are denying themselves' is a pointless and incorrect
statement. They're only denying themselves the dosh by gigging for
underagers.
And before anyone throws some 'it's about more than the money' crap at me,
take it up with the management.
'Fans of powderfinger are all ages and should have gigs offered to
them accordingly if the band are doing a tour'
What a load...look at it this way - it's just something you have to be
patient with. It's like alcohol...there are, without a doubt, millions of
underaged beings who'd love to be able to waltz into any old pub and get
maggoted, but it's something you have to wait for, and you don't have an
immediate right to it just coz you're a fan. It's exactly the same regarding
bands and gigs...I'm 19 now, and I'm glad to have earned my place in the
scheme of gigdom, and yada yada yada and etcetera...I wanted to see Custaro,
the Powdies, the Whitlams, desperately when I was younger, but I accepted
that it doesn't work like that. Whining underagers should, too.
Most definitely I'll cop a barrage of narrow-minded shit in reply, but
what-the-hell, huh? As the phenomenal Gomez say, 'Bring It On'!

Hi Guys,
Haven't posted in ages. Just wanted to say that all the recent stuff from
the boys is bloody fantastic....not a hint of dissapointment here :)
On the 'touring' side of things i'm a little dissapointed as there is only
one gig in Perth....i guess i should be grateful and i am but i thought
being a capital city in their home country they could have made a bit more
effort. Last time they were here they had three shows, althougth the last
one was cancelled for reasons know by all. I think they owe us a show...and
this tour is the perfect opportunity. So what do you say boys?
Nevertheless, i cant wait to see them again....it has been way too long.
Enjoy the shows...although i'm sure you all will :)
Cheers,
Emma

Hello, okay well I am a new Econodog (gee I'm an Econodog! I'm so
privileged!)
Well my name is Gab (gabrielle). I am 16 and I live in Hobart (tasmania) the
place where Powderfinger aren't coming on their tour :(
(not to worry though, word is they are coming in early 2001,-what's the bet
they don't do all ages).
I first found out about the Econodogs almost a year ago on the JJJ
Powderfinger J files, I found the Oipic website last week, so I decided to
join.
I'm pretty sure my favourite song is Vladimir (B side on Double Allergic).
Don't ask me which is my favourite album, it's to hard to pick!!!
I have sadly never been to a Powderfinger concert. Usually because I wasn't
old enough to get in.
Well I guess that's the important stuff covered.
Bye! Gab.

Hi guys!
I don't know if I've heard wrong, but I'm pretty damn sure the boys aren't
playing in Tassie when they tour.
Why aren't they playing in Tassie, I mean it isn't that bad is it?
I really think they should come to Tassie. I still haven't had the chance to
see them live, I know they came to Launceston last year but unfortunately I
missed out.
Ohhhhhh it's not fair! Why do I have to live in Tassie!!!!!
Sorry about my whinging, but I can't help it!
Anyway, I saw the My Happiness clip, last night on Rage(25th), it was the
first song that was played, so luckily I didn't have to wait up all night to
see it. But of course I would have if I had to.
Then I saw it again in the morning on Rage at number 4!!! Now how Awesome is
that!
The clip was okay, I particularly like the slinky and Bernie's Brisbane
t-shirt.
Okay, enough from me
seeeeeya
Meags!

Hey there!
I haven' written in ages, yet i was stoked to hear that PF are touring!
..... That was untill i read from the other Sarah in perth in the last
newletter and discovered the only WA gig is at UWA and is 18+. What's the
deal?. I'm 17 and i really want to see 'em. I'm hoping they'll do an all
ages gig aswell otherwise i'll be beyond disappointed- downright PISSED OFF!
The last time i saw the boys was in December when they played at "the Rock
It concert" It was so unreal coz i was at the very front of the mosh
(getting trampled) yet i stuck it out for 5 hours and got to see Jebediah,
Powderfinger and (my personal favs) silverchair- up close and personal.
I'm really hoping they'll play for all us youngin's.
love Sarah
