Bah, don't you hate it when you miss the digest
by about one hour - oh well at least it gives first
post in the next digest.

There was camera action @ Byron, well at least
there was after about 2 songs went down. Seems that
the BouncerBots were instructed not to allow photos
to be taken at the venue, giving the reason "cause it's a
charity gig only 2 media houses are allowed to take shots".
Someone brought it to Bernie's attention (sign language)
and he said something like I know nothing about a ban
on camera's and that they were allowed. Hehe.. Renne
and Evita immediately went to get their confiscated
equipment. Neway, I've taken pics and posted them on
the 'Resource. As for the commentary, Tams exhaused
everything last digest however I'd like to add the fact
that "My Love" rocked!

Whilist plugging the site, the JJJ unearthed broadcast
is also posted.

Good to see that 4 gigs were announced in South East
Queensland (well, good if live you around here).
Brissyites won't have to travel more than 100kms to see
40% of the tour. Lack of sleep - here we come!

Hey all,

I just got the local music magazine and it announced that Powderfinger are
doing one show at UWA on October 21st. It's an over age show in the tavern,
and apparently the only one in Perth!!! Lucky for me I'm old enough to go,
but what about all the youngings out there? It's hardly fair for them is it!

Cheers

Greetings and salutations to all,

It's certainly been a long time since I last posted anything, I think it's
just because I've had nothing much of interest to say.
Few items to address - I don't know if it's just me being the saddest slack
ass in the world or because JJJ aren't doing their job properly but I have
NOT heard "My Happiness". Not once, don't even know the vague tune of it.
Yes, I'm ashamed but I intend to rectify the situation. *cough*
Today (04.08.00 in Perth) I got up late and slowly expecting no news of any
interest...hmm I was wrong. Flipping thru the paper to the "Today" section I
stumbled an article titled "Powering up the Finger"
I won't type the article in nor will i type it up in my own words...however,
I will mention all the lil itty bitty facts that ARE important to us
isolated PF fans.
btw - did you know that Powderfinger have been in the ARIA charts for over
92 weeks now??!?!?
ANyways, PF will be playing one show in Perth @ UWA on October 21 (I'm
guessing either on the huge oak oval or the gardens near the Octagon (doubt
the sunken gardens although beautiful spot - for those who know the campus)
and Magic Dirt will be backing them up - I think because half my paper is
smudged out *goddamn the postie*
Tickets are going on sale August 21. Not sure whether its all ages yet. SO
if you're in Perth (I sympathise) and you're up for the PF concert in
October - give me a buzz, err or rather an email and perhaps this time I can
get my act together and meet up with you (BigDayOut 2000 Perth *oops*).

I think that's a long enough post for now...just making up for lost time I
guess.

Hi all
I thought My Happiness on JJJ last Wednesday was good, and My Kinda Scene
was fantastic!!!*wow* Maybe even better than the recorded version. I loved
it!
I've noticed on their last few releases (ie. These Days, MKS, My Happiness)
pf have seemed to emphasise on the (lovely, in my opinion) vocals more than
heavy guitars. Compare those songs to the like of Parables and you see the
newies are smoother, more refined and less 'rockin', like Jeff said. (sorry
if i interpreted you wrong, Jeff!) I'd like to hear more rock too.
My opinion anyway. I'd be interested to know if anyone else agrees.
Taz, sorry i'm not sure on what you asked for but 'Whatever You Want' was
played on the ad for neighbours. I heard it too.
Be happy : )
*sarah*
ps. what's the release date for 'My Happiness' ???

hi all!

does anyone have any idea how much the tickets for the forum gig are.. or
any ideas who the second support will be?? i thought they might've had augie
march as a support rather than magic dirt - they've got the emotional rock
thing and they've got a new album out soon... ohwell!
i've never really gotten into magic dirt the two times i've seen them,
s'pose i only know about 3 songs.. and can never recognise the others!

hi guys and gals,

just a short note to clear up any confusion about Jono's mail-out
last week. I've had a fair few people emailing me thinking that
the econodog digest has now ended... this is not the case! the
news service part of Econodog has ended since the official site
has now got their act together, but this discussion digest is
still running! You don't need to resubscribe, if you get this
digest, you are obviously still subscribed.

thanks for your time
Paul
