When you start Excel displays a screen like this, we will see its basic components, and know the names of the different elements and be easier to understand the rest of the course. The screen shown below (and in general all of this year) may not exactly match what you see on your computer, because every user can decide what items you want to be seen at all times, as discussed below.

Clicking the File tab located on the top left of the screen can display a menu from which you can see the actions you can perform on the document, including Save , Print, or create a new one .
This menu can also be accessed from the keyboard access mode as we will see in the Ribbon .
Contains two basic types of components:
Those who show a panel just to the right with more options , occupying the entire surface of the Excel window . As Information or Print. By placing the cursor over the options of this type have an effect notice that dark green. The color will remain when you click so you know which panel is active.
Those who open a dialog box . How to Open or Save As. By placing the cursor over the options of this type have an effect notice that green. The color remains only while the cursor is over, and that clicking the Open dialog itself displays the name of the action in its title bar .
To close the File tab and return to the document press ESC or click on another tab.
