| (Sometime at the beginning of April) Zeb missed a practice and we needed a drummer, thus calling Adam Clymer to fill in for one practice. (The next day) Adam Clymer becomes our new drummer. Zeb is kicked out on good terms with everyone in the band. (4/15) OfF bY oNe has had their first show!! We played at Dana Knoll's b'day party. We got some good feedback too. We also have stickers for sale now, too. Mike Mantz (my bro) sang Polly (Nirvana) and Girl Next Door (Screeching Weasel) with us too. That's cool...yeah. (5/20) OfF bY oNe plays an actual real show with other bands. (Gromblefish and Error 404). We played great and everything went over pretty well. Chris got hella nervous before the show because all of his friends were watching. If me and Dlyan (from G-fish) hadn't helped him calm down, he would've prolly ran. Chris also got the whole crowd to cheer for his dad for letting em sing that night. We busted the new 4 originals that we had, "Untitled", "Missing", "All Over", and "Adam Won't Shut Up." (5/27) OfF bY oNe plays at Chris Redd's party. Chris was unable to sing for us then, so we had my brother (Mike Mantz) fill in for him. Gromblefish played also for Chris Redd. I broke a string in the middle of the set, but that's okay because Dylan Scalora (from Gromblefish) did the same and broke the same E-string. (6/4) Cancer Walk was great even though we had a crap PA and only played from 25 mintues. We sorta got screwed, but you can expect these things. My brother also filled in for then too. This was OfF bY oNe's last show played until Chris returned to the band. Anways, Mike went off on the DJ, it was pretty funny to see him do it. My dad (Jim Mantz) played drums for us in J.A.R. and Adam played bass for it cause Di-dog couldn't get the bass part. (6/12) Chris Wiegand gets ungrounded and returns to OfF bY oNe after a month of not being with us!!!! We start preparing for our biggest show yet, Mochafest at Schimd's house. (7/2) OfF bY oNe plays MochaFest as the first band. No one paid attention to us really except for the few fans we had there. (if any) We played about 18 songs under a blistering temperature of 92 degrees and in the sun. Whew! Man it was hot that day!! I ended up with a wife beater burn and Chris got a one similar. The other two people in the band were fine cause they were in the shade. Mike Mantz also came up and sang for us with Big Yellow Taxi (Pinhead Gunpowder version). Other bands that played there were: No Blitz, Ditchpin, LosinGround, Shade, and Wavetaster. We busted out a revised version of the Beetles song "Hey Bulldog" and our new original "Impressed." (7/3) OfF bY oNe plays at Laura's house up by Clinton. This was one of Chris' friends. We played in 65 degree weather and in the rain. We had a special request from Ian to play Dammit (Blink 182) for him privately. Which we did and then we played at the end of out set again. Mike Mantz (who was my ride there) came up and sang Big Yellow Taxi again and Polly with us. Laura even gave us $100 for playing......awww..........we love that girl. (7/10) OfF bY oNe begins to record a demo tape. Unfortunately they turned out not that great and made us sound we were blaring fast and sang like chipmunks. (7/15) At the spur of the moment we were asked to play at a girl's house we didn't even know for her surprise b'day party. Of course we accepted and went and played a cool show there. We didn't know anyone there, but we made some friends (Rob and Chris) who absolutely loved us. They were pretty cool cats. Hope we'll meet up with one day again. (7/17) Chris tries to quit the band. Luckily me and Di are able to keep em with us. And then he decided that he truly did love the band and didn't want to leave it ever again. (7/22) OfF bY oNe plays the Battle of the Bands at the Ol' Town Festival in which we lost to a band called The Front. (who were better than us) Anyways, we still got a $100 outta the deal, so it was cool to play it. That show was something we really enjoyed to do. (8/15) OfF bY OnE plays at Erin Springer's house (yes, our photographer). We went on after the illustrious band No Blitz played. We both rocked out with some groovy tunes and such. Mike Mantz (once again) sang Big Yellow Taxi with us. We also busted out our new original "Punkrock Superheroes." (8/31) Tensions between the band were rising. But we didn't notice em. We play at Ashley Pollet's pool party and rocked out with some fun. It wasn't as fun as the rest. Most of the crowd didn't like, but our fans sure did. We recruited some roadies, Brian Dieck and Nick Stepenick. And we got some bouncers too, Matt Morales, Ryan Devan, and Ian Rocoroni. Yeah, that was cool. Little did we know that this was gonna be our last show. (9/2) Adam quits the band on the account of not getting along with Chris. Luckily we were able to keep em until the 23rd show and the he was gonna leave and so was the rest of the band. We all decided that the 23rd would be OfF bY oNe's last show. But it never got that far. So the final show was 8/31. Prolly one of the best shows we play and our last. (9/10) OfF bY OnE has officially disbanned due to problems between the members. The break up was reletively on good terms. We had some fun while it lasted though. |
