Chain of Command

 

 

General (Clan Leader)

Duties and Responsibilities: The General is the Clan Leader of SG1 and as such has final authority over the operation of the clan. The General abstains from voting in Officers� Meetings except to break a tie vote. The General may vote to create a tie vote (a tie vote fails.) The General may use a veto at his or her discretion to override any decisions made in the Officers� meetings. The General seeks to guide the clan in a positive direction and helps others to see the vision of the Clan. The General appoints the Colonel and Chief Master Sergeant positions and gives final approval to all promotion of subordinate personnel. Major actions and/or decisions will be forwarded by the Colonel for the General�s review. At the General�s discretion and direction, decisions need not await a vote of the Officers� Meeting.

 

 

Commissioned Officers

 

Colonel (Appointed by Clan Leader)

Duties and Responsibilities: The Colonel is second-in-command and acts as General (Clan Leader) during their extended leave of absence. The Colonel will serve as Chairperson during Officers� Meetings, directing and guiding the meeting productively. The Colonel has a vote in these meetings. Reports from Officers (Captain and Lieutenants) should be routed through the Colonel for review. The Colonel is the direct supervisor to the Captain and will train the Captain to accomplish the tasks of Colonel. The Colonel reports directly to the General. The Colonel�s role is to ensure the smooth operation and administration of the clan. Aspects of importance include, but are not limited to, funding, discipline, promotion of subordinate staff, and recruitment. Additional tasks will be assigned the Colonel at the discretion of the General. The Colonel works with the Chief Master Sergeant in funding training, competitions, and recruitment. Though their chief concerns differ, the Colonel may request assistance from the Chief Master Sergeant and vice-versa.

Incentives: May use Colonel Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Colonel receives 300 million credits from the clan bank upon appointment.

Requirements: At the discretion of the General. Appointees generally surpass the requirements of other positions and take an active role in the clan. This position in particular requires a considerable interest and involvement in clan and server affairs.

 

Captain

Duties and Responsibilities: The Captain directly supervises the two Lieutenants, reviews their reports, and forwards them to the Colonel. The Captain makes decisions and/or suggestions based upon these reports and either acts immediately or consults with the Colonel depending on the situation. Immediate actions taken will be reported to the Colonel for review. The Captain uses the best of judgment in all aspects of carrying out their duties. The Captain has investigative authority in those matters which require further interview of personnel or gathering of information. Investigations include, but are not limited to, misconduct by a subordinate clan member and attempted resolution of conflict between two or more clan members. The Captain acts as Colonel in their extended leave of absence or position vacancy. The Captain attends and votes in Officers� Meetings.

Incentives: May use Captain Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Captain receives 200 million credits from the clan bank upon promotion.

Requirements: At least 3500 NPC kills and at least 35 hours on the server in an SG1 tagged ship. Advanced PvP experience is a bonus.

 

1st Lieutenant

Duties and Responsibilities: The two Lieutenants act as the eyes and ears for the rest of the Officers. They take reports from subordinate clan members, actively monitor activities on the server and forums, and make reports to the Captain. Lieutenants monitor the performance, attitude, and relations of their subordinates within the clan and make pertinent reports to the Captain. Lieutenants are authorized to take emergency actions and issue directives as needed in the defense of the SG1 and its allies. Day-to-day and potential future events and concerns however will be reported to the Captain or discussed in Officers� Meetings. Generally, Lieutenants will be persons who use the DS9 server during different parts of the day. This allows for clan members to make reports or request help during a greater portion of the day. Each Lieutenant participates and votes in the Officers� Meetings. Lieutenants encourage subordinates in achieving clan goals such as the accumulation of money and the gaining of rank, participation in DS9 competitions, and NPC kills.

Incentives: May use Lieutenant Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Lieutenant receives 100 million credits from the clan bank upon promotion.

Requirements: At least 2500 NPC kills and at least 25 hours on the server in an SG1 tagged ship. Intermediate PvP experience is a bonus.

 

 

 

Non-Commissioned Officers

 

Chief Master Sergeant (Appointed by General)

Duties and Responsibilities: The Chief Master Sergeant is the General�s laiason with the front-line fighters of the SG1. The Sergeant is the clan authority in terms of recruiting and training. These are the primary concerns of the Chief Master Sergeant, who may route requests for additional funding through the Colonel. The Sergeant, at his or her discretion, may hold training exercises. Funding for such may be also be requested of the Colonel. The Chief Master Sergeant will aggressively train and recruit front-line fighters and traders with the assistance of the two Master Sergeants, who are directly under his or her command. Though their chief concerns differ, the Chief Master Sergeant may request assistance from any Commissioned Officer and vice-versa. Though not a Commisioned Officer in the technical sense, the Chief Master Sergeant is a close, trusted advisor of the General and may attend and vote in Officers� Meetings.

Incentives: May use the Chief Master Sergeant Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Sergeant receives 300 million credits from the clan bank upon appointment.

Requirements: At the discretion of the General. Appointees generally surpass the requirements of other positions and take an active role in the clan. This position in particular requires teaching, PvP , and interpersonal skills as well as patience.

 

Master Sergeant

Duties and Responsibilities: The Master Sergeants are SG1 members who show proficiency at training and recruiting and wish to work in this area. Master Sergeants must be proficient in teaching SG1 members the skills necessary to be successful on the DS9 Server. The skills taught by Master Sergeants include Player Vs. Player (pvp) skills as well as Reputation management and weapon/equipment procurement. Master Sergeants actively recruit new Airmen to help fill the ranks of the SG1. They take their orders directly from the Chief Master Sergeant but are technically subordinate to Lieutenants and may be called upon by Command Staff if needed. The senior Master Sergeant acts as Chief Master Sergeant during his/her extended leave of absence or in the case of position vacancy.

Incentives: May use the Master Sergeant Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Sergeant receives 75 million credits from the clan bank upon appointment.

Requirements: At least 2000 NPC kills and at least 20 hours on the server with one tagged SG1 character. Master Sergeants have proven skills in pvp instruction and other aspects of gameplay.

 

Technical Sergeant

Duties and Responsibilities: The Technical Sergeants have proven that he or she has the skills, knowledge, and ability to be a successful member of the SG1 clan. The Sergeant will lead by example, showing subordinate Airmen appropriate ways of thriving in the DS9 environment. The Sergeant is directly subordinate to both the 1st Lieutenants and the Master Sergeants, but are generally under the command of the Lieutenants. The Sergeant makes reports in one of two categories. Matters of operations, disagreements between players, funding, discipline, promotion, and rules/regulations will be reported to a 1st Lieutenant. Matters of training, and recruiting will be reported to the Chief Master Sergeant. Airmen will generally report to the Technical Sergeants, who will forward the report as appropriate. Technical Sergeants are expected to present themselves in a respectful manner at all times. They will encourage and help Airmen in trading, training, and other clan matters. Respectful and appropriate shall not mean inactive and complacent. �Light a fire under them!� is the credo of the Technical Sergeant.

Incentives: May use the Technical Sergeant Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Sergeant receives 50 million credits from the clan bank upon promotion.

Requirements: At least 1,500 NPC kills and at least 15 hours on the server with one tagged SG1 character. Some PvP experience is a bonus.

 

Airman

Duties and Responsibilities: The Airman is a member of the SG1 who has not promoted or been appointed another position within the clan. This includes both new recruits and those who choose not to follow a leadership role within the SG1. These players are truly the bread-and-butter of the clan. They are the hard-working, front-line fighters and traders who do their best in service of the clan. They know and follow all rules of the DS9 server, the SG1 Clan and its allies. They conduct themselves appropriately while striving to accomplish the goals of the clan. They will always follow the orders of their commanding officers without argument. They assist other allied players in need. Airmen make the clan a force to be reckoned with.

Incentives: May use the Airman Insignia in clan avatars and/or signatures. The Airman receives 50 million credits from any clan member upon joining the SG1.

Requirements: Must read and understand the DS9 rules and regulations. Timely registration on the SG1 (Forums - SG1 ) and SGA (Forum - SGA ) forums is expected. The SG1 website is Website - SG1.
