The meeting blog is now running, following  a slight delay due to an unscheduled visit to Toulouse on behalf of the OUBS Dean.

In a discussion session with Airbus students and their mentors the question put was "What business is Airbus in?"

The answer that emerged was "face-to-face contact"

Passenger transportation in general and air transportation in particular complement the other two enablers of the global economy - ICTs and the less glamorous but equally ISO shipping container.

Face to face contact in both business and social interactions remains a valuable commodity, and it can be argued that increasingly sophisticated ICTs create as much stimulation as substitution of physical movement.
