Odyssey Group Workshop, August 2000

e-collectivism: a re-formation

held at Ely, Cambridgeshire, England
14th - 25th August 2000

Built on the medieval fishponds of Ely Cathedral,
72-74 Broad Street, Ely, Cambs, is the location for this year's Odyssey Group interaction.
The location carries certain danger:
the lord of the manor still has the right to fish, hunt or mine on the premises. Had he done so, this website would have made use of e-collectivism to broadcast and contest the event.

Aim:

This workshop was designed to:
  • explore the potential and affordances of electronic modes of communication for enabling collectives modes of organising and social activism
  • identify current and emerging practices in this arena
  • seek to develop theoretical perspectives and their practical applications.

Venue:

72-74 Broad Street, Ely, Cambridgeshire, England
