| I am on Ogygia now, the island of the nymph Calypso. She wants me so bad, but all I want it to go home. It was hard getting here, I went through many trials and tribulations on the way. Circe shipped my crew and I off with everything I needed for the voyage to the island of Thrinacia. The island was inhabited by Helios' Cattle of the Sun. First we passed by the Sirens. I told the crew to tie me to the mast so I could here their seducing song. I specifically told them to make the ropes tighter if I asked to be set free. Oh how beautiful their voices were! And how gorgeous they looked! I yearned to go profess my love to them, even though I knew if they got hold of me they would kill me on the spot. Had I not been tied to the mast I surely would have swam from the boat to the shore of their island. The next danger was the horrible Scylla. She was a horrifying, six headed beast. She lived in a cave on a cliff we had to pass under. She swooped down from he lair and snatched six of my men off of the deck, a snack for each head. On the other side of the narrow passageway was Charybdis gulps down the dark sea water, and three times a day it vomits the water high into the air. After we faced those three horrors my crew and I landed on the Island of the sun-god's cattle. I warned my crew repeatedly not to eat any of the flocks they come upon, because it will mean certain death for them all. Did they listen? Of course not! They ate the cattle of the sun, and for that they are dead at the bottom of the wine dark sea. Zeus struck my ship with a white hot bolt of lightning. It totaled the ship, and killed my crew. Only I survived, but sadly I landed here on Calypso's island. She tries to make me love her, but it is not working. Even when we are sleeping together, my heart is with my beautiful wife Penelope |
