Bridging the gap between Africans, Caribbeans and African-Americans
Co-sponsors: The African Caribbean Association and Minds About Progress

On October 8th, 7 PM, the discussion on bridging the gap between Africans, Caribbeans and African-Americans took place in the university mall. More people than expected showed up and it was a success.
The discussion was commenced by everyone introducing themselves and generalizing what they wanted to gain from the discussion. All three groups of cultures gave their opinions on different issues ranging from the effects of slavery on African-Americans and Caribbeans to the unity of Africa as one country instead of several different countries in one continent. Several African-Americans were more interested in knowing if they would be accepted as Africans once they settled in Africa while others wanted to know how Africans felt when they arrived in the states.
It was a great night for those who attended, because there was lots of interraction between people who were coming from different places. Resolutions were made by everyone at the end of the discussion on what should be done for the gap to disappear.
