.:.ABOUT ACA
The African Caribbean Association, also known as ACA, is a campus community that was founded by several friends of different nationalities, ranging from African to Caribbean, with a common bond to starting an organization for the enhancement of African and Caribbean students at Old Dominion University. ACA was officially recognized as a university organization in the Spring of 2001. Sylena Hutchinson of the Bahamas served as the first president of the association until her Graduation from ODU in the summer of 2002.

ACA has,  in the past, held picnics, parties, competed in soccer tournaments, held forums/discussions, participated in the Homecoming Parade in 2001 as well as the International fashion show that was sponsored by the Council of International Organizations, created a display of great African leaders during Black History Month and co-sponsored Sankofa Celebration. The African Caribbean Association continues to promote an awareness of African and Caribbean cultures at ODU, in the community and foster unity among all students on campus. Membership fee is only $10 for the whole year and is open to EVERYONE.
