Three officers from the Nevis Disaster Management Office in the Premier�s Ministry, attended a �Warehouse training program�, organized by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and US Southcom Military Command. The workshop was held at the NEMA warehouse facility at Lime Kiln, St. Kitts, on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th March 2005.
The workshop covered a number of topics including design and layout, principles of warehousing, material handling, storage aids, stock management, preservation & packing, truck loading and special commodities.
The skills acquired in the workshop will be utilised for the management of the Nevis Disaster Management warehouse supplies, in Charlestown. |
