MORE OF ODIE'S STORY

One of ODIE'S most humorous photos was taken when a man, who had an unlit cigar in his mouth, knelt at ODIE'S side to pet him. ODIE smelt the cigar and the man took the cigar out of his own mouth and placed it in ODIES. "He didn't chew it up or anything," said Johnson. "He just held it in his mouth like he was smoking it. I still laugh when I look at that photo. It would be a great picture for a cigar company."

ODIE'S grandfather was a show-dog, Champion Joe The Proud. Maybe ODIE has ham in his genes. Johnson loves what he does for the nursing homes and has appeared with ODIE at Florida International University to speak on behalf of the Pet Theraphy Program.
"When the SMILES get bigger and the LAUGHTER gets louder, I know my ODIE'S doing his job, "he said. "It's been said I talk to ODIE like a human being, but that's because he understand me like a human being."
