ODIE's story continues.
ODIE and the Johnsons visit Coral Reef Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as well as two other nursing facilities three times a month as Registered Pet Thereapists for The Humane Society Of Greater Miami,Inc.
For his pre-Thanksgiving visit to Coral Reef Nursing Home,  ODIE was dressed as an Indian. He wore a pair of hand-painted black shorts, with a turkey on one side and his name on the other side, a yellow pullover, his red suspenders, his yellow sunglasses and a red and white headband complete with red feather. ODIE just turned 4 years young on Sunday Nov 28th, the anniversary of the Center. "This place was opened on the day ODIE was born, said Irene Medovoy," activities director for the Coral Reef Center, who was appropriately dressed as a Pilgrim, "I  played piano here for open house, for four to five hours, on opening day. Who would have imagined such a Special Dog was being born that very day and that he would be a regular vvisitor here?" "Two years later, I began working here and I was able to meet ODIE."
"It's perfect, I'm dressed as a Pilgrim and he's an Indian." ODIE made his rounds visiting with the clients. Faces lit up when he entered the dining room. He gave a pooch smooch to his wheel chair bound friend, Helen Swanda, then sauntered over to Nora Leonard, another resident
"I love him," said Nora, while petting ODIE. "That's a nice dog, he's pretty."

Barbara Ruskin was also happy to see her barkingbuddy, who speaks on command. "That's my freind, " said Barbara. "Do you still weifg 20 poinds in one paw?" Aida Sardinas turned 85 that day also, She loves dogs and smiled when she saw ODIE in his feathered headdress, but she was a bit too weak to speak.
ODIE furst nip at fame came when his mon and dad took him to Coconut Grove dressed as a Santa Claus, three years ago "A Miami Herald Photographer asked if he could take ODIE'S picture," said Johnson, "We said sure." Next thing we knew, he was on the front page in color."
Since then, ODIE has been in The Martin Luther King  Jr. Parade in Homestead. He has veen in the Homestead Rodeo Parade three years in a row, dressed as a cowboy,  complete with holstered pistols, pulling a wagon.
He has appeared in the 1998 Jinior Orange Bowl Parade and has twice been in the Macy's and Bloomingdale's Parade.
For Easter, he was dressed up in his bunny suit.
