A Rose for Emily
~ William Faulkner

One unidentified townsperson, who refers to himself as we
How would one structure that sentence?
  o Must establish continuity

Example: The narrator takes on the voice of the town, therefore using the plural we.
Miss Emily represents the old traditions and as a result is rejected by modern ideas (The modern ideas is only definable in the story so therefore it goes into quotations)
Miss Emily resembled one of those angels in coloured church windows, with the out-of-place relationship with her Yankee boyfriend.
Resembling one of those angels in the coloured church windows Miss Emily leads a life that serves as a bad example to the young people.
Emily was treated as an idol, but idols collect dust

Emilys aunt was crazy (Crazy is non-definable)
If something is in your own words/slang, then put in the single quotes like this => example.

Emily cannot bear to let go of her fiance who had passed away nearly forty years ago; [s]ee Colonel Satoris, she says

Emily preserves all the dead in her memory; [s]ee Colonel Satoris, she says to the city authorities.

What you shouldnt do:
NEVER state The irony in the story; put The author ironically states
NEVER state In the metaphor in the story;  put The author metaphorically states
Dont make lists out of your essays
  o First,Second,Third,Finally
     use of motif:
o house dying strength (death of way of life)
As a motif, introductory phrase
