Philosophy

I am passionate about education and the power it has to build self-esteem and enable people to choose a fulfilling and meaningful life path.  My most important job as an educator is to teach children how to learn, and become confident and competent explorers of this ever-changing world.

 

Bio

·        A newlywed (after 12 years of single parenthood) with 4 teenagers, 3 cats, and a very kind and patient husband

·        15 year resident of Fort Collins

·        an avid reader, who loves hiking, gardening, bird watching, knitting, billiards, travel, and sneaking Sunday naps

 

Education

·        BA Business Administration, University of Wisconsin-Madison, December 1980

·        MA Elementary Education, University of Northern Colorado – Greeley, August 2000

 

Experience as an Educator

·        Currently teaching 4th grade, O’Dea Elementary

·        2 years teaching 1st grade, O’Dea Elementary

·        1 year teaching 2nd grade, O’Dea Elementary

·        9 years in Early Childhood Education
