Do you feel dwarfed by your large walls? It can be a matter of scale.
Instead of trying to "fill them up" with lots of little pictures and objects that aren't related, choose one or two focal points in the room and select carefully. One large picture or two or three related pictures might work. Try a large quilt, or a collection of "like" items, such, as a grouping of plates or wreaths. Perhaps a pair of pictures across the room will do.
And don't forget greenery. A large plant or tree can go a long way to fill a space with an interesting shape. Knowing when to stop is key. So please, use restraint and enjoy!
