They don't even mention you anymore
Weren't you the first to get fed up?
They don't mention the students you came accross
With joined hands
And destroyed
No mention of the plans that they found in your locker
Or the copy of the Rage along beside them
And how King won't let it be printed now
The oversized duffle bag
Labeled your science experiement
But i remember you
And the fear we all felt in the class room that day
Watching CNN
And then how i remembered you
How you stayed away from the other inmates
In the Daviess County Juevenile Detention Center
How quiet you were
And still are
Thinking about God knows what
Not very tall
Glasses
Brown hair
Your small stature
One of us
No blurb on you
Not even an honorable mention
Just another dingy headline forgotten
FORGOTTEN
home
This is an older poem about Micheal Carneal.  He shot several students, killing and injury them while they were at an early morning prayer service around the flagpole at school.
