CONFIGURING YOUR OWN HOME PAGE:

One of the handiest tricks I know of is to use your home page to your advantage. Actually, many people don't realize how easy it is to change the default home page of their browsers.

In Internet Explorer, you choose, Tools > Internet Options > General.

Here you'll see you can enter a URL for the page you want to display when you hit the "Home" button on your browser.

In Netscape, you choose, Edit > Preferences > Navigator.

So, why would you want to create your own homepage? First off, many Internet Service Providers pre-assign a homepage that links to their own site every time you launch your browser.

Obviously, you may want to start surfing from somewhere else.

If you're like me, you probably have tons of sites you visit often, and you'll know that using bookmarks really isn't a very efficient way to navigate to and from these pages.

A better way is to create a custom page using your HTML skills, a homepage haven with links to your favorite sites. You will want to include a little info about each link, such as names, passwords, descriptions, things like that. Then you can tidy up your links with tables to organize them into categories for even faster navigation. Save your file to a location on your computer's hard disk and then, whenever you want you can just click "Home", and have your favorite info and links at your fingertips.

Now isn't that some nifty info?
