Dream:

I had a very vivid dream last night and I'm hoping you might be able to help with it. First of all a little background on me - I am in a relationship with my boyfriend of 7 years that is not going anywhere and has been very rocky. I think I may have "feelings" for a very good male friend who I met on the internet and have previously met in real life. We talk every day. He is not happy with the way I am treated at home, is always telling me I deserve better and I should get out of my current relationship. I'm quite confused as to his feelings for me. He lives in the USA and I in the UK, and I will be seeing him again later this year. So anyway, onto the dream.

The first part is not very clear at all, but I am lying on a picnic blanket with this friend and he has just cooked me a meal - we're lying on the blanket eating our food and watching the Jenny Jones show on a giant TV screen attached to a huge, horrible concrete block of flats. But then I find a strange bug in the food and I'm apologising for not being able to eat any more.
Cut to - myself and this friend wandering around a town that I used to live in. All of a sudden I find that I have wandered away from him and onto a train that is pulling out of the station, and I don't have a ticket. The train ride is not particularly smooth and the train is lurching from side to side. I am aware that the train is taking me away from somewhere I desperately want to be. All the time I am on the train I am worried that I'm going to get in serious trouble for not having a ticket. The inspector gets on to check our tickets, but for some reason doesn't ask to see mine and I get away with it. I'm trying really hard to gather up my belongings and get off the train, but at each station something happens to stop this, for example I don't have my belongings gathered and I'm running around the carriage looking for them. The things I have with me are a handbag and an empty laptop computer bag. I don't have my laptop with me, just the case (By the way, i communicate with my friend in real life using my laptop). At one of the stations I think I can get off, but then I realise that the laptop bag I have does not belong to me and it has got mixed up with someone else's bag on the train, so I'm trying to find the owner. I then realise that there is some pink writing inside this laptop bag, and I match it up with some pink writing on one of the other passenger's laptop and we swap cases. But the case he has given me still doesn't look like mine, and I still don't feel as if I can leave the train. Eventually I decide to just take what I can find of mine, not worry about the rest and get off the train. So I get off at a station in the middle of nowhere and I'm asking the ticket clerk which platform I need to get back to the town I started from. I still don't have a ticket. I woke up before I got to the right platform. Any ideas?

.nikki.'s interpretation::

The picnic blanket signifies romance. The meal signifies plans made for you. You find a problem (bug) in the whole matter. You view this situation in your life as equal to a topic as seen on a talk show. You apologise for someone else's error as if it were you're own, but it is gracious, and doesn't harm you to do so. You feel you are wandering in life, you don't know where you're going. You are unprepared, and confused. Everytime you decide to get out of the situation, something prevents you from doing so. The inspector is your conscience validating everyone else's right to be where they are in life, but you won't allow yourself to be validated. This relationship with your friend leaves you frantic. You would like for him to just disappear sometimes, but a part of you holds on (empty laptop bag). You need to find your own opinions regarding your friend, and re-evaluate his convictions regarding your own life -- make whatever evaluation you come to, your own. You've already decided to just do what you can, even though you are unprepared, and feel un-validated. You will do it, even though you cannot see where you will end up. It will be familiar, but new(old town).
