Why I like Queen Beryl: Although I have only seen Sailor Moon since August 1997, I have come to take notice of the evil Queen Beryl, ruler of the Negaverse. She has her goal plain and simple: Gather enough energy to release the Negaforce and destroy the universe. As a one-track mind can go, is that really a surprise? Until she can, though, she has to dispatch her four warriors(Jedite, Neflite, Zoycite, and Malachite) to gather energy. She cannot tolerate failure in any way by her minions. When it does happen, she gives two of the four a major punishment. As these four favorite episodes demonstrate, she won't take losing to the Sailor Scouts very well. At the end of "Fight to the Finish," she places Jedite in an eternal frozen state, never to awaken again after 10 straight failures (It took her that long to realize he was no good?). In "A Crystal Clear Destiny," Beryl cannot stand Zoycite's complaining about getting revenge against Tuxedo Mask, and in "A Reluctant Princess," when Beryl learns about Sailor Moon obtaining the Emperium Silver Crystal, she punishes Zoycite by firing a deadly blow. Finally, "Day of Destiny" proves to be a day never to be forgotten. After dispatching the Doom & Gloom Girls to finish off the other Sailor Scouts, she takes on Sailor Moon herself, which turns out to be a mistake because she not only loses Prince Darien, but she loses her life in the climactic battle. Queen Beryl is powerful, but she overused her power and lost in the end. If she were for real, you would not want to face her because she can quickly surprise you before you could even say,"Moon Prism Power!"
Questions about Queen Beryl: How did she become queen of the Negaverse in the first place? When did the Negaverse come into existence? And what about the Negaforce, where did it come from?
