In the United States we heard, many times, that we are overqualified in our profession. In Europe the more you know the better qualified you are.
Since the year 1982, we have been leaders in promoting dancing in Iceland.
We started to introduse dance as a sport in Iceland that same year. To ensure a high standard of dance, we invited dance couples from all over the world to compeat in Iceland. Couples from: England, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong to promote International Style Sport Dancing.
The first Icelandic participation was in 1983 wich resaulted in the Icelandic Latin and Ballroom Dancesport Competition, International Style in 1986.
We enterd our best couples in the best dance competition in the world "Blackpool Dance Festival in England" and by the year 1992 Icelandic dancers were bringing home the trophies.
Our couples won the right to reprisent Iceland in major scandinnavian, european and international competitions in the USA, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Germany, England, Italy and more.
