Highlights and History

*Watchung Club joined the Warren, Plainfield and South Plainfield clubs to jointly announce their support for National Youth Appreciation Week, November 12th-18th.Kenneth Schmidt, Mayor of Watchung, issued a proclamation.

Presented A.P.T. scholarship award to Susan Fioulli, a senior at Watchung Hills Regional High School, on Friday, June 1, 1974 (The Edward Green Memorial scholarship).

* 10th Annual Convention - Golden Eagle Motor Lodge, Cape May, NJ, September 19 - 22, 1974 - hosted the Saturday pool party

Was a Charter Member

*Up until Dave's illness, he had perfect attendance with the Club.Whenever he went away on vacation, he always sought out an Optimist Club meeting so that he could maintain his attendance record.

*� Upon Dave's death in 1997, to honor his dedication to the club, the Watchung Optimist Club established a scholarship in his name, to be given out yearly, to a senior at Watchung Hills Regional High School.
