The OCUUPS Board Members and the Witches Ball committee decided that due to potential construction delays in the Commons Room, the 4th Annual Witches Ball would be postponed until February 16, 2008. The theme; Forbidden Palace: Imperial China will remain the same. We will still provide a catered banquet upon which we can all feast and DJ Devilboy has been rebooked for the new date. We are all very excited about this grand event. It certainly will be the party of the season and one you should not miss.
On Wendesday, October 3, 2007 at 7pm the Organizational and Board meeting will take place. This is of particular interest because we will be voting for the new Board Members to take over the next CUUPS year starting in November. We have some new faces vying for a spot on the Board. Amoung them are Trina, Amy and Dan. Two fairly new additions to the OCUUPS family, and one long time member willing to take on a little more responsibility. Amy is running unoppossed for the PR Chair and Dan is running for co-chair of Education while Trina is looking to bring a little fun into our lives as co-Activities chair. With these bright, young, energetic members we have a few elders amoungst us looking for more social masochism. Karen has been nominated for President again, Megan is running for Ritual Chair, Erin is running for Education co-chair, Kate is running for Secretary, Russ is once again willing to suffer with us as treasurer and Kim will run as co-chair of activities. The outcome, though somewhat predictable, will be posted to the yahoo group and on the website.
It is time again for OCUUPS to renew it's members. The cost is a mere $12 and you too can become a full fledged card carrying member of OCUUPS. We do have some special events planned for members only this year so it's a great time to re-new your membership. Or, if you have always thought about becoming a member to join up today to take advantage of our special events. One of these is perks is discounted Witches Ball tickets. There will be other activities planned throughout the year and I gaurantee you that they are not to be missed! You may have noticed a new look to the OCUUPS website. We, as in I, decided we needed to update our web appearance. It was seeming a little out-dated and drab. Those colors and photos were so 3 months ago! Also, I was hoping to make the pages a little easier to look at, surf through and find information on. In addition, I wanted a page we could all feel proud to call our own. Though I know most of you are amazed we've graduated from the techno-neanderthal era, we are still webosapiens. One day we will walk tall amoung the most respected of webpages. Until then you need to suffer with us on this painful ride on the information superhighway.
