| I was more than half way there when I realized I had crossed some invisible barrier which I will call the 'moss-line'. You've heard of the 'knat-line' haven't you? Well this is the 'moss-line'. I suddenly noticed that all the trees were drapped with moss and a large number of cypress trees and knees had sprung up along the banks. They looked like crowds of children hanging on their momma's skirt ready to cheer me on as I paddled by. | |||||||||||||
| Its always when I'm too tired or too lazy to paddle that I notice the wildlife on the shore. Wild turkeys, big ones, about 12. Having just listened to a discussion on the meaning of red heads on turkeys (Does it mean they're male? Females have them too.) I did notice that they all had red heads. Later in the car I was trying to remember what you call a group of turkeys. I said, "flock". My mom said, "gaggle, no thats geese". I said, "What do you call a group of turkeys." My son said, "dinner". |
