The Cree name is Kisachewan which is also a Cree word, meaning a fast flowing river or current (similar to Saskatchewan).
The Prince Albert community has three urban reserves within two located in the city of PA (now the Petro Canada Gas Bar and the other in the outskirts of PA located past the Sask Penitentiary an estimated 10 min drive West. (Paved road, at Lily Plain turn off is 3 km N. on gravel).
