OCIC 2003 Performances

This year's conference has a dynamite line-up of performances. We're still putting the list together, and everything below this line is subject to change before show time.

Friday: Piscapo's Arm (Half past Eight in the Cat in the Cream, $2 Suggested Donation, Free with Conference Pass)

Oberlin's only sketch comedy group in their first show of the spring semester.

Friday: The Big Show (Ten O'Clock in Hales Gymnasium/ the Cat in the Cream, $7 OCID, $10 non-OCID, Free with Conference Pass)

Our opening act on Friday night has been described by Chicago critics as "a collision between 'Life in Hell' and 'Waiting for Godot.'" With the help of Dan Griffiths, Stephen Eric Chipps and Oberlin College alum Jim Williams (Sunshine Scouts '00), Kapoot celebrates the extremities and absurdities of life without uttering a single word. While taking a break from their national tour, the trio will perform and lead a few workshops about movement and mime as they pertain to improv theater. Our headliners will be Bob Dassie and Alex Fendrich of Improv Olympic fame. Details to follow.

Saturday: Holy Virgin High (Half past Eight in Asia House, $2 Suggested Donation, Free with Conference Pass)

A special episode of the ongoing teen half-prov drama in everybody's favorite Catholic school, Holy Virgin High.

Saturday: Improv Till We're Dead (Ten O'Clock at the Cat in the Cream, $2 Suggested Donation)

Improv Till We're Dead is an opportunity for visiting troupes and local Oberlin troupes to strut their stuff in front of their peers. Every troupe that buys an all access pass will get half an hour of performance time, and then we invite the professionals onstage and jam all night. Last year this was the most fun part of the conference.
