HURRICANE AWARENESS
BRING ALL BICYCLES INSIDE. REMOVE ANY AND ALL ITEMS FROM BREEZEWAYS AND OUTSIDE YOUR FRONT DOOR. (PLANTS, CHAIRS, ETC) THERE SHOULD BE NO ITEMS LEFT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR.
DO NOT USE CANDLES!! We recommend using flashlights, tap lights, or Coleman lamps.
Leave blinds in a closed position, Have a portable radio with extra batteries on hand. Gather insurance policies, home inventory lists, and other important documents.
If conditions deteriorate, take shelter in an interior room with no windows, such as a bathroom. Fill bathtubs with water. It is recommended that you also have at least one gallon of bottled water per person, per day.
We recommend that you have cash on hand. ATMs and credit cards will not work without power. Make sure you have gas in your car. **If the power goes out, do not call the answering service. Ocean Trace cannot fix it.
IF IT APPEARS NECESSARY, OCEAN TRACE WILL BE TAPING UP THE APARTMENT WINDOWS FROM THE OUTSIDE.
If you decide to wait it out in an area shelter please bring the following items with you:
Personal Identification, Folding chair or pillow and blanket, Flashlight with batteries, Canned goods, Bottled water, Toiletries, Medicine, Games/Books.
The following items should be assembled in case you are asked to evacuate:

1 gallon of water per person; per day (store water in a sealed, unbreakable container), A supply of non-perishable packaged or canned food and a non-electric can opener, A change of clothes (rain gear & sturdy shoes), Blankets or sleeping bags, A first aid kit and any prescription medicines, An extra pair of glasses (if applicable), A battery powered radio, flashlight, and plenty of extra batteries, Credit cards & cash, An extra set of keys, A list of doctors and important health information, etc.

If authorities give the word to evacuate, do so immediately. Delaying could cause you to be trapped on the roadways. If you do get caught on the road in the storm, stay in your car. It will offer some protection against the storm and any debris.
