The Popular Favourites

Foreword:

This webpage is meant to highlight some of my favourites which are more likely to happen to be the favourites of some of my peers.

Perhaps the basis of such an attempt stems from a realisation: In addition to my comparatively unique personality, I sense that I have a comparatively different interests from many of my peers. (?) I ain't sure, but my general sense is that finding someone who is at my frequency could only occur one in a thousand chances. The differences appear to put me at an apparent distance from my peers. So the growing up years were often spent trying to balance between the act of asserting one's individuality and the act of ensuring that one doesn't stick out too painfully like a sore thumb. (Sometimes, I could get so used to the differences that I become rather immune to sensing the distance between myself and others: when others may be perceiving the distance so apparently.)

If this webpage could serve as a bridge to closen up a little bit of that distance, it would have served its purpose.

The Carpenters

The Carpenters have good music to offer. Captivating melodies, interesting harmonies, and I love the accompaniment!

Won't you agree with me that Karen Carpenter sings beautifully?

You may have heard their songs but didn't realise that the songs were by them. If listing some of their popular hits could help give you the clue of who the Carpenters are, here goes: Top of the World, We've Only Just Begun, Yesterday Once More, Please Mr. Postman, (They Long To Be) Close to You, Sing.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

I like the ambience of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlets. At least compared to Starbucks. I would prefer tea to coffee. Then again, I'm rather conscious that if I were to drink tea at night, I may have difficulties falling into sleep when I reach home later the night.

I envy people who can drink the ice-blended drinks. I am tempted to try the ice-blended, but I just have to keep myself in check, because I know my throat is likely to suffer when I drink cold drinks. By the way, I know that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf serves breakfast. I haven't had a chance to try the breakfast, but I hope to, one day. I love breakfasts to lunches and dinners. I just tend to have a big appetite for breakfasts.

The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay

I believe that the Esplanade will slowly grow to become more and more popular among my peers. I ain't sure if I'm one of those who is 'guilty' of being responsible for the growing phenomenon. I realised that I have been consciously and unconsciously making attempts to bring many of my friends to the Esplanade.

I particularly enjoy going up to the roof top of the Esplanade. There's a very good view up there. And if you haven't seen why I think it's a good view, you may check it out with me, I shall make my best humble attempt to illustrate to you why I think the view is a worthly one. In fact, the Esplanade is full of interesting spots that are so interesting for the eyes (e.g. the entrance to the Concert Hall, the glass panels, the displays, etc).
