I Passed ABRSM Grade 7 Practical Exams

ABRSM Practical Exams

I have taken my ABRSM Practical Exams (Grade 7) for the Double Bass. This has been an experience for me. To much extent, the exams and the preparations have helped improve my playing. I guess this is the most consoling factor whatever my exams results could be.

After the exams, I realised that I still have a way to go in the areas of working on my scales, aural skills and sight-reading. I shall work on these by playing more scales, train up my aural skills and sight-reading.

I am looking for someone to help coach me in aural skills, if you know of anyone, please do let me know? Thanks in advance.

• My tutor, Mr Guennadi, for his patient and inspiring guidance.
• Jing, for the tremendous kindness, encouragement and patience that she has shown while accompanying me for the exams and the preparations. Jing: thank you for being such a lovely accompanist to play with. I have enjoyed playing with you. Thank you very much for your time and kindness.
• My family members, for tolerating with my many hours of practice. And to my Dad and Mom for helping me with the carrying of items when I had to go out-of-the-house to practise.
• My double bass section, for their support and encouragement.
• Shuyi for her help, support and encouragement.
• And the many friends, colleagues and well-wishers who have given me their support and encouragement.
• Not forgetting, the examiner who patiently sat there to listen to me playing during the entire course of my exams.

I have been MBTI Accredited as of April 2004. I am hoping to have more chances to practice what I have learnt. If you happen to be interested in knowing your MBTI profile, you could approach me. (Please expect that there will be a charge to cover the cost of the instruments though.)
