This recorder's handwriting was a challenge! I'm not sure I've transcribed all correctly. Some of the words can be discerned by comparing this deed with the deed for when it was sold 5 Jan 1789. Note that "f" is the old style of writing for the letter "s" and sometimes for double "ss." Quite a few abbreviations were used - where "sd" means "said" and so on. ABSTRACTS: I Job White of South Hadley in the County of Hampshire & Commonwealth of Mass Cordwainer... ...Fifty pounds ...hereof by Asa Ayres of South Hadley in the County of Hampshire & Comwlth aforsd Yeoman... ...convey and confirm unto him the said Asa Ayres his ----- Heirs and assigns for ever, the one half of in quality of a certain piece of land Containing three Acres & a half Situate in South Hadley together with one half of the dwelling house one half of the shop ____ now? by the house & one half of the barn & one half of the Tanhouse sd land is bounded east on the County road north on Ruggles Woodbridge South & west on Smiths lands ---- ....In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand & seal this second day of March Anno Domini 1786 ) Job White & Seal Signd Seald & dld in presence of Gardner Preston?
