Nestled in a grove of trees in the middle of suburbia lies the La Mirada course, a throwback to the glory days of the 70's with its classic curb appeal.
There are many long shots here, with a lot of open grass areas and trees. The uphill shots get very technical, and the downhill shots flow perfectly with the trees. There is a large lake in the middle, and the front 18 play precariously close on many of the holes. Many discs have been lost in the lake over the years.
There are 27 holes total, and the back 9 are grueling, with several holes playing over 400 feet and nothing under 300. Hole # 20 down the huge back hill is my favorite, the basket usually appearing about 430 feet straight down the hill under the drooping elm trees. The huge variety here and the various pin placements make it a unique experience each time.
