Silk Painting
Facilitated by Trisha Egan
In the silk painting workshop 10 participants each time learnt the
basics of silk painting and had the opportunity to complete a scarf or
painting using a variety of techniques. This included taking part in
all aspects of the process from putting the silk on the frame and painting
to preparation for steaming to set colour.
Finishing Your Silk Painting
 | Place
the silk in the sink and run the cold tap, leave the plug out so the
dye that flows out can drain away |
 | Turn
on the hot tap and adjust until the water is warm
|
 | Add
a squirt of dish-wash liquid and swirl silk around until dye stops
running
|
 | Rinse
with cold water, keep the plug in the sink
|
 | Remove
silk from the sink, roll in a towel to remove excess moisture
|
 | Iron
while damp with iron set on ‘dry’ and ‘silk’ |
