Opera Garnier
aka Palais Garnier
This is the Foyer where men could go, smoke and drink during intermission
The Chandelier of the Opera house, which supposedly fell in the "Phantom of the Opera."  It didnt.
The Opera is gorgeous, can't wait to go there again on September 25th to see a ballet!!
Its a funny place, in the "Phantom of the Opera" it says that the Opera house in on top of a lake.
It is!! Sort of.
It was built on top of a water resevior and was used to move around the heavy stage equipment.
Because of the terriorist stuff, people are not allowed to see or go into the underground water lake, but I was told that you use to be able to lift a hatch on the stage and see it.
Now they use it to breed fish!! No kidding.
And on the roof, they have beehives to make honey.  For reals.
I'll show you a picutre of the honey later.  Its Opera honey.
Very interesting.
