The Outer Banks, North Carolina
The Outer Banks are barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. Dare County comprises most of the islands, but Currituck and Hyde Counties are also included. Thousands of people vacation each year to experience the aesthetic and historical aspects of the area. If you want to learn more about the history of the area, click here, or visit the Lost Colony's official webpage, which is a popular outdoor drama in Dare County depicting the life of the colonists who established settlements before disappearing.. For overall information, check out www.outerbanks.com, for ferry schedules, history, weather, events, and more.
Now, as far as the queer community and the Outer Banks goes, that's why I began this endeavor. It may sound redundant, but I need your help to make this work. I want to organize events, but I can't do it if there isn't anyone out there. The closest gay bars that I know of are in Virginia, so let me give ya'll some more links to the ones that have links and the contacts for those that don't.
