Involving the Community of the Outer Banks (that means you who are reading this!)

Alright, so here is the main objective of the page. It goes along with the purpose, but has more specific, hopefully attainable goals. Keep in mind: my imagination outweighs my leadership skills. Translation? E-mail me to let me know if these are things you want to see happen!

- I plan on posting flyers around the area, promoting the site and awareness of the community to help with the next few items.
>A friend and I posted flyers on many public bulletin boards from Nags Head to Kitty Hawk, but they were removed within a week.
> I am working on a new design that isn't too vague for our purposes, but hopefully will slip under the radar of those who might take them down.

> I am also currently in the process of making business cards (great idea SG) to hand out to interested folks, as well as getting the word out.
> The business cards are complete, I have only passed
out a couple however. My wallet sure knows about the site! lol

- I feel the area needs a group of sorts that can be scheduled so that every Friday or Saturday there is a place where we can get together in a friendly environment and be ourselves (being courteous of others, of course). It would be very benificial for youth and adults who are not yet out, or who are not sure how to identify as well as those out who want a social outlet. The problem is where...
>It was brought to my attention (thank you CJ) that groups in places that have groups, i.e. places that aren't as remote and antiquated as ye ole OBX, meet in Unitarian churches, sometimes Methodist and other more liberal branches. I would be glad to get in contact with some places BUT, I need you to contact me to tell me it is something you want. I don't need to meet with myself :)

- I think it would be great for the high school(s) to have a Gay-Straight Alliance. Given the geographic domain you may think me crazy, believe me I know how the people of Manteo can be around those who are "different," which I think is all the more reason there should be a teen group which is readily available for them.

> I will get over to the high school soon and make contact to try and start it up for next year.
