Windows startup
and shutdown screens are actually 320x400 bitmaps saved with
a SYS extension in C:\ and C:\WINDOWS. You can substitute the
default bitmaps with these original SYS files
on any version of Windows later than 95.
Each logo set is saved in a ZIP file, along with some installation
instructions. As always, if you like the stuff I make, feel
free to email me
or leave a note in the guestbook.
Monochrome

Simulates an old "green-screen" monitor, complete
with low-resolution scan lines.

Beveled
Welcome (138 KB)
Loosely based on the old Macintosh startup box. (The little
computer icon should look familiar to Mac users.)

Welcome
Window (53 KB)
A revision of Beveled Welcome, with the beveling removed
and a slightly closer resemblance to the Mac startup.

Space
(38 KB)
One of my more popular logo sets; crescent planets orbiting
lens-flare suns. Newly updated set.

Old
Manila (255 KB)
Old photos of Manila in the 1960s, scanned and turned into
a thematic logo set. (I think the startup one is from Waiting
for Godot.)

And
So (137 KB)
An abstract "video" type of logo set using a distressed
"film damage" look.
