My friend Raffy spoofed this photo with a thought balloon saying "Gosh, the bathroom sure looked smaller from the outside." |

This is, without doubt, my favorite photo of myself. It was shot, processed, and printed by then-GUIDON photographer Alfred Mendoza for the Loyola Lampoon `98. |
That's Alfredo Lim, known as the "Dirty Harry" of Philippine law enforcement and politics. We interviewed him for GUIDON when he was still Manila mayor and running for President. Unfortunately, he didn't win the elections, but he was recently appointed secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government. No matter what I do with Levels and Contrast, I can't get rid of the flash on Mayor Lim's face. This is the best I could come up with. |

Tiffany and I at a GUIDON outing in Marbella, a beach resort in Cavite. We had lots of fun together with the rest of the edboard. The original photo didn't look quite so paradisical. Before some selective color-tweaking in Photoshop, the water of Manila Bay was more a lukewarm shade of gray-green, and if you think I look dark here, I'm even darker in real life; only a Brightness-Contrast adjustment makes my face visible at all. |
One of my favorite photos of Tiffany in The GUIDON office, slightly retouched in Photoshop to remove some unflattering film grain and print scratches. Tiffany just recently had a corneal laser operation, so she has 20/20 vision and doesn't need glasses anymore. |
I was bored in the office on an overnight job, so I gave face-scanning a try. Someone told me later that scanning your face is actually very dangerous, especially if you keep your eyes open. I guess I'm fortunate my eyes didn't explode. I won't do it again. Promise. |

I tweaked my own eyes a bit, so while I'm still not looking at the camera, at least I'm not blinking too much anymore. Doesn't Tiff look cute? I think she looks cute. |
