BAND BIO

A band comprised of fully devoted bosconians since their first days in Kinder to their last days of being High school students, Obrigado were formed as Third street somewhere in the last days of August 2004 upto the last days of September of the same year. Having Jose Lorenzo Peralta on Lead Guitars, Roel Christopher Encinas on Rhythm Guitars, Rex Byron Roxas on Bass, Philip Serrano on Percs/ Aux. drums, Lester Arrieta on Drums and Angelo Carlo Calayo on Vocals, they had their first gig on a Club interaction of St. Scholastica's College, Manila and Don Bosco Technical College, Mandaluyong in 01 October 2004.
Then, their journey had began. As they go on, they had their line-up undergone a little change because of a member who decided to go on a different path. Then they had Roberto Martin "Robie" Calimbahin on drums and the rest have remained on their post. After a number of sessions, Jose discovered some pontentials of Dexter Maneclang as a vocals and so, they decided to add him on the line up. They continued their journey as one, and one day, their efforts were paid off when they've heard of a school event that took place on the 3rd and 4th of February 2005, in the week of the school fair, which were the 'Talent's night' and ''. There they've unleashed their guts hidden as potentials.
They've continued their brotherhood even after those 2 events. Then, after their High school graduation, one of them decided to go on with his own path and so making them look for a temporary bassist for there 09 April 2005 Gig (8 days after their Graduation), whom was Mark Ramon Ramos, who's now playing with Tragic Encounter. That was also their first gig as 'Obrigado'. After that, somewhere in May 2005 they had a Gig and because of no means of communication, Roel was forced to play the bass, leaving them with only one guitarist.
Few weeks after, they heard that their current drummer back then had also decided to quit because of a personal reason. Was then that they've realized that they're back to zero again and had to start with the simplest of the basics. Their former drummer's parting forced Philip "Flip" Serrano, aux. drums/percs. to attend a basic drum lessons. With these catastrophes yet they've never felt despair nor falter but took it as a big challenge. They also had some musicians like James, who played the drums for them for a couple of sessions, and Erwin, whom was their bassist for a number of sessions, who, after some time, decided also to leave. These even made them encounter another gigantic challenge.
Several months after, they've already recovered from the adversity. They can already then got right those songs that they've been covering. One day, they've heard of a production that would handle an event in Kolumn bar, somewhere in the mid-November and first few days of December 2005. Because they really are in need of a bassist for our 15 and 22 January 2006 gigs, they've got no choice but to ask Juan Manuel Sacdalan to play the bass for them even at least only for those two nights. And with no hesitation, JM accepted the offer and the next thing they've done, they've composed one song that was used for those two nights together with the other covers.
After some weeks, they've heard of another production that would handle an event at Freedom bar, and for this they've composed another piece that was be used for that night (25 February 2006).
These night was followed with different events in almost each and every month. They also tried their luck in a 'Battle of the bands' somewhere in May 2006.
Their journey went on and on till now, it's a tussle for them to be dealt and not to be neglected.
