From the very beginning of his career, Juozas Rimas worked on the status of the oboe as a solo instrument. He was the first one to play an oboe recital in Eastern Europe and Eastern Europe (back in 1972) and ever since has been one of the most active soloists in Lithuania (unheard for any wind instrumentalist). Described by colleagues as "ready to play everything ever written for oboe", Juozas Rimas thinks that this is too little and has arranged many non-oboe pieces for his instrument. Here's a programme of his "pot-pourri" concert with some of such arranged pieces played with piano accompaniment (note also that all the nineteen pieces, some of them being quite a challenge for lungs, are played in a row with a 5-minute break in the middle and "Ritual Fire Dance", the hardest one, is left for the finale):

1. T. Albinoni (1671-1750) / R. Giazotto (1910- ) - Adagio in g-moll*
