Comments from Michelle's mom (Kathy)

Jeff (U4EA), I reread one of my first e-mails to you asking that I receive copies of the letters sent to the judge. I don't need any copy of the letters. If everyone could just send the letters to the Peoria address a.s.a.p., we would appreciate all the help we can get. I reread your first e-mail about judges being slaves to public opinion. Already the court office employees are all talking about this case. If the case gets reinstated, all this turmoil will have been to our advantage.

I called Michelle to let her know what I heard from the court office, she seemed pretty beat. Yesterday would have been Brian's and her 10th wedding anniversary. I told her the Driver's Beware article was published in a paper today and had in it about Mr. Sowalskie being responsible for making her a widow at age 29. Having that particular article printed now was good news. The message is still getting out there even with the war.

Thank your again for all your help. I guess I'm really hyped about this. At first I thought it was the worst thing to happen with the case, but I really feel we will make a difference. Also Jeff, please put on the web site about Mr. Sowalskie being the poster child for the worst of all unsafe elderly drivers, if you haven't already. The man was called by Michelle's lawyer a bad apple. Mr. Sowalskie is a mean, unhappy man. I will not let him bring my family down to his level. We will not be his victim, we will be survivors. I truly believe God and Brian are backing us all the way.

Thank you,

Kathy Schmidt
