The Shepherd
Here's Shepherd Book. He's wearing a very nice grey habit with black slacks and a suede leather belt. The belt I cut by hand from a large hide I've had kicking around for a while waiting for a purpose. The buckle is actually from a small pair of little girls Mary Janes that I cannibalized. He's wearing (surprise!) the boots all the rest wear. His hair gave me the most trouble. I tried grey yarn, no good. I finally settled on a white wool/acrylic blend that had a funky sort of shiny fuzz to it that you can't begin to see in the pics. It looks very much like frizzy hair. I colored bits of it with a black sharpie to get the salt-and-pepper look. I am not 100% happy with it, but it works until I find a better method!
Doesn't he look ready to bring religiosity to the Fuzzy-Wuzzies?
Here's a kind of fuzzy closeup of Book's hair. I wish I could have gotten a better shot so you could see the detail, but it was REALLY cold out there and I didn't want to spend too much time in it! You can see the scrap of suede I used to tie back his mane. There is a LOT of yarn in his "wig", so it made for a quite puffy ponytail. I'm not sure what would happen if it were to come undone...
