GOALIE OF THE MONTH
AUGUST / SEPTEMBER: SNUGGLES THE CAT
OCTOBER: TBA
Goalies don't get into many fights, but they sure are tough. You HAVE to be tough to stand down a puck coming at you at 100 mph. Goalies can also be a bit on the flaky side. They're a part of the team, and at the same time a loner. Their role is unlike that of any other player's. Their unique position tends to make them look at life - and hockey - a little bit differently than anyone else. This page is devoted to goalies, past and present, who step to the beat of a different drummer.

It has been said, with some justification, that goaltending is the most demanding position in the realm of sports. The puck, a six ounce hunk of vulcanized rubber, is a terribly destructive missle... and a man who attempts to block such missles invites serious injury with the possibility of becoming permanently maimed. The tension induced by this fact can become unbearable. "This is Hockey"
