NO DVD / TV TUNER AUDIO USING SBLIVE SOUND CARD TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE GENERAL INFO: 1. DVD / TV Tuner audio use the auxiliary input to the sound card. This sound card automatically mutes the auxiliary input when the system boots, or any SBLive application is accessed. 2. Auxiliary input (volume, and mute) are not normally displayed in the Windows volume control panel. 3. Auxiliary input can be found on the Creative mixer control panel. 4. The Creative Speaker control allows you to specify your speaker output configuration and the setup of the audio source positions for the output. 5. When entering the SPEAKER application the Creative mixer is adjusted to the settings specified in the application. If "no effects" is listed as the SETUP option the auxiliary input will be muted. WORKAROUND: All you have to do is setup a custom speaker configuration, with the auxiliary input active. This will save the auxiliary input settings for future use. Therefore, in theory, allowing normal playback of DVD/TV Tuner audio without effecting other audio formats. SETUP CUSTOM CONFIGURATION: 1. Open the SBLive! SPEAKER application: click START-->choose PROGRAMS-->choose CREATIVE-->choose SBLIVE! VALUE -->select Creative Launcher -->click AUDIO_HQ Tab-->Choose SPEAKER You are now in the SPEAKER application and should see the OUTPUT, and SETUP boxes. One option is to only change the OUTPUT selection as listed below. But if you leave the SETUP as "no effect" you cannot save the change. This, of course, means that when you reboot the problem will return! The second option is to only change the SETUP selection as listed below. I recommend changing both selections at the same time to prevent having to come back a second time. ADA 880 speakers: Change the OUTPUT box to "LIVE! SURROUND". Change the SETUP box to "Game 2D Age of Empire" All other speakers : Change the OUTPUT box to "2 speaker". Change the SETUP box to "Game 2D Age of Empire" Minimize the SPEAKER application without saving, or closing. Proceed to step 2. 2. UN-MUTE auxiliary in: click START-->choose PROGRAMS-->choose CREATIVE-->choose SBLIVE! VALUE -->select Creative Launcher -->click AUDIO_HQ Tab->click options->choose advanced. This will put the MIXER icon in the AUDIO_HQ control panel. Open the MIXER controls and un-mute all of the available selections. There should be ))) after the speaker icon in the boxes above the slider controls when you are done. Close the MIXER application. Proceed to step 3. 3. Save custom configuration. Maximize the SPEAKER application, and click the diskette icon to save. This will save a configuration that has all audio options active. The saved configuration will be retained after rebooting. NOTE: There is not a lot of information on this sound card available to look at. The best info we have is the SBLive user's guide.
