Adam's Reviews: Week #1
The 20 people of Online Big Brother: All-Stars have made the commitment to stay with 20 people in a house for who knows how long, all to get the title of the last competitor standing. Many questions will have to be answered this game: Who will win? Who will be the crowd favorite? Who will be my favorite (of course, the sarcastic one.) Where the hell is Mount Shasta, anyways? And the most disturbing question of all... Why did Andrew color the site pink and baby blue?
Now on to more important matters (like the reason you're reading my rants anyways). I've met many of the players from before the game... I guess that first off I can talk a bit about the people I know. Angela... Angie is one of my favorite people I've ever met in online gaming. The game I played with her she would have won if I hadn't screwed her over, and she did the whole thing the nice way (as opposed to me, of course). Despite her apparent ho-ish... (erm, "flirtish" ;)) tendencies, she definitely has what it takes to go far in this game (like mad skillz mixing drinks). Chris has played in a few of my games before, and we've played in a couple games together. He's always been the nice guy that gets taken along for his vote, but gets dumped after they don't really need him anymore- it's sort of sad really, seeing as he deserves to go farther than that- maybe now he'll be able to. Nick- what can I say about Nick? I've known him for five years (even before Survivor became a TV show), and we're great friends. He's my loyal co-host (actually more it's vice-versa), and I know for a fact that he does what needs to be done (like voting against me last time we played a game together). Sue- she's a lot of fun to talk to, and ranks right up there as one of the sneakiest people I've ever met online. She's garnered such complimentary titles as "the evil bitch" in a game I've hosted, and ended up winning anyways... She's definitely got what it takes to go far (unless, of course, people get sick of her backstabbing allies right and left). The final person in the OBB: All-Stars house that I've met before is Thomas. We were on good terms for a while, but things sort of soured pretty quickly. He's definitely going to be the clown of the house, although there will be some fierce competition for the spot. I bet his humor can take him far (especially if he stays true with Nick).
Now on to everyone else: Andrew seems like a nice enough guy, but a little bland at the moment... I'm sure that once the game progresses he'll come out of the shell I sort of see him in and become a strong force in the game. Ben- I don't really like what he did with Valerie. Alliances this early in the game (especially games as big as this) are destined to fall apart, and secret alliances never stay secret for long. I think Ben is trying to play the mastermind, but in the end he'll get outed and ousted. Bobby has a high tolerance for Angie and Joel's hot tub "sessions", but no kid should be subjected to their parents talking sex in the hot tub! Bobby seems to have a good sense of humor, so I hope he can patch things up with Nick and go far. Chad has gone far in games before and has been a major member of the online gaming community, but he was a bit too quiet on the first night. He's probably got some cards up his sleeve that will come out later in the game. Dawn seems to be someone that I'd love to talk to- she's obviously well-liked, and will make it far in the game. The only thing that might keep her from doing so is making enemies early on because of being the first HOH. Devon got the most negative points at the HOH challenge, so I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him gone soon. He really didn't have any face time in the episode... not a good thing for him. Jessica seems like she's got everything going on for her to make it far- she's got a friendly attitude and she's confident in her abilities to do well. Joel... aside from spanking Angela in the hot tub, he's going to be one of the big jokers of the house. Perhaps he'll be the ladies' man as well.... LaNea seems nice enough, but not talkative enough- I'd be willing to bet that she goes early, maybe even as early as the first episode. Michael is sort of like Andrew- bland at the moment, but maybe more exciting later on. Only time will tell. Norman- SPEAK UP! The first night is a time for introduction, not introspection. Open your mouth soon or your ass will be out the door. Rob seems like a fun guy- I like that he's proud to be the only Brit in a house full of flat-accented Americans and Canucks, so more power to him! Robin made it far in her first game, and she did pretty well at the HOH- I bet that she'll go far as well. Ryan is in the same boat with Andrew and Michael- a bit bland now, but may be more interesting later. And finally we come to Valerie... another respected member of the gaming community, she seems like she'll be the real sweetheart of the season. Amy was by far my favorite Big Brother houseguest of all time, so I guess all we have to do now is slip Val some booze and I've got myself a new favorite!
Good luck to everyone surviving Dawn's nominations, and good luck to everyon who plans to make this game more interesting! (If you all turn out to be houseplants instead of houseguests, then I'm out of a job). Look for more in-depth (and of course, more sarcastic) editions of my column on the only reality game page decked out like a nursery- Online Big Brother All-Stars on Mt. Shasta!
