| The 'need to succeed' is one invisible driving force that unceasingly and mercilessly prods-&-prompts us on all through our lives in the pursuit of the achievement of the same. Sometimes, the drumbeat of a constant 'win-win-win' builds up into an unbearable crescendo harming and hurting its pursuer in the process. Be it success in the sphere of education; be it success in our career; be it success in regard to self-development; be it success in raising a family; be it success in the area of developing our relationships; be it success in our religious endevours; we all are well honed to focus upon this magic mantra right from the time of our birth. The minute we are born, we are slapped around: if we do not immediately succeed in starting to breath (live) and cry (make our voice heard). Then starts a series of self-motivated and others'-bullied attempts in putting us on a never-ending path to attaining success in various facets of our lives. In the coming days, we shall try to look at the many success-related questions: 1) how much is too much 2) how to keep control 3) maintaining a balanced approach and so on. Your suggestions and comments would be most welcome. |
