Commercial Business Fire

612 Beatty Road: Velocity Express

March 29 – A reported structure fire was dispatched in the early morning hours for a commercial business on Beatty Road in Company 5’s first due with a run assignment of Companies 5,4,6.  Police arrived on scene reporting a fire in the building with units from 5 arriving shortly after.  Initial report was a roof mounted gas heater on fire, being fed by natural gas.  Command requested company 1 for a RIT team bringing E12 to the call.  Crews from E52 and T5 worked to get the gas shut off while E61 worked to get a water supply.  Once the gas was shut off, the fire was extinguished quickly leaving a minor smoke condition and the assignment was held to Company 5 and E61.  Units from 6 included E61, M69, R6, C60, C61, and C62.
