March 10 – A call was dispatched for a reported chimney fire in the
evening of March 10, reporting smoke coming from the roof area. Call assignment was companies 5,6, and
Command 32. E52 and T5 arrived on scene
to find a fire in the roof of the house.
Chief Snyder (C50) arrived on scene and requested a 2nd alarm
for manpower, which called Company 4 on the assignment. Crews from E61 and E62 provided water supply
to E52 while crews from E52, T5, E61, and R6 operated inside to extinguish the
fire in the Roof / Attic area. Company
4 arrived on scene and provided additional interior crews along with a RIT
team. Extensive damage occurred to the
second floor and roof areas of the residence.
Crews were on scene just under 3 hours.
Two firefighters were injured and transported to Forbes Regional
